A billboard depicting Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney in an advertisement for a marital affairs website has been pulled down from its perch in South Boston. “Apparently I put up an ad not in America, but in some country where freedom of expression isn’t tolerated very well; especially when it comes to the political scene,” said Noel Biderman, founder of AshleyMadison.com. Via BostInno.

It’s interesting how my feelings about certain websites have evolved over the years. I used to routinely rant about eHarmony, POF and sometimes Ashley Madison, not to mention Match and other sites when I felt they were crossing some line, or not doing enough for their members.

If you want to cheat on your wife/husband on Ashley Madison, or spend away your money on True.com or Badoo, its a free country, and who am I to judge.

Perhaps getting older and spending more time outside in nature here in Vermont has mellowed me a bit.  There is also the fact that after 10 years of writing about the online dating industry I don’t feel like I have anything to prove at this point. Looking back, over the years my role turned out to being the person who shined a light on the positive aspects of online dating and exposed unsavory industry practices, which certainly kept me busy.

As the 10-year anniversary writing Online Dating Insider approaches, I feel like I’ve said just about everything I wanted to and its time for me to start thinking about what’s next for me and the blog. Exciting times indeed.
