The infidelity economy- AshleyMadison.com and the invention of the Adultery Marketplace Besides being Valentine’s Day, yesterday, to quote Ice-Cube, was a good day. First I had a nice mention in the Huffington Post article Online Dating Startups Drive Matchmaking Makeover.

I was happy to turn the reporter on to some new and innovative dating startups instead of talking about the same old sites.

Maybe I should do more marketing for dating sites, I am mentioned everywhere lately which is great for the ego but unless it turns into business, its just another press mention.

As I was walking by a newsstand last night what caught my eye but the Businessweek cover story I was quoted in, Cheating, Incorporated. Bonus content, CEO’s of Sex and The Infidelity Economy podcast.

Favorite Facebook quote rom a friend:”At least you were quoted by name in the paragraph with the anthropologist and not with the adulterers.”

My mom, because she is amazing, gets a shout-out today. She read the HuffPo and Businessweek stories and this is what she wrote me. Bear in mind she is in her mid-70’s.

I was interested in the apparent need to go even further– from conventional profiles to the social networking style sites — and that a newer niche … could be to figure out how to organize the Match customers or whatever they are called into social groups that could actually meet, as a group, even offline, since they hinted at that kind of thing in one of the pieces. The challenge seems to be to move beyond one at a time meetups somehow. Social networking plus profile information leads to a new “crowd” as in the woman again who found it all boring and was looking for change. Move beyond the same old same old. Hard, though, because people are still people!

Nice, couldn’t have said it better myself. Meetcha PODS (group dating), meetMoi and the other social/group dating sites, now is your time to shine.
