What a great visit to Manhattan. Coming back on the Acela now, the (relatively) high-speed train and as of yesterday, free wifi. Works well but blocks all dating sites and video.

From a reader:

It seems that Google is making some pretty significant changes on how they
are defining:

* Family Safe Content

* Non-Family Safe Content

* Adult Sexual Content

As we are learning, the implications could be substantial for casual dating
sites who have been ³living² in the Family Safe or Non-Family Safe spaces.

Leave a comment if you fall into this category and have noticed some changes. This, and the rumbling about e-comerce providers halting 3 and 7-day dating site trials, has a lot of people on edge in the dating industry.

I met with some great people yesterday:

Sherri Langburt runs Single Edition, which provides dating-related content for top tier dating companies. I was impressed with Sherri’s game plan. Expect to hear a lot more from her on this blog.

An Ex-Community Connect person who is working on a few great new ideas including one with a dating twist.

A top-notch branding expert who is looking to leverage her experience by branding people.

Ken Deckinger, who co-founded HurryDate with Adele Testani. HurryDate was sold to Spark Networks and Ken is off doing other things now. Ken, I’m going to take you up on sailing when it gets warm out. Good luck with the soon-to-arrive small human.

I cannot tell you how great it is to be able to spend time with driven passionate entrepreneurs. Truly inspiring, these folks have given me a lot to think and write about.

My greatest regret is that I didn’t have time to stop by OKCupid and feed the Staff Robot.
