SNAP Interactive has announced the beta launch of AreYouInterested.com, a stand-alone online dating website incorporating a Facebook Connect integration. AreYouInterested.com represents an expanded version of SNAP’s popular Facebook Platform dating application ‘Are You Interested,’ which presently has more than 13 Million users.
By utilizing Facebook Connect,users can login to AreYouInterested with their Facebook identity and allow the site to access the member’s existing Facebook profile information. Additionally, users are able to share content and actions taken on AreYouInterested with their friends back on Facebook for a better overall experience.
Simplified logins via Facebook Connect make it easier for people to sign up for dating sites. One would hope that at some point and time FB Connect will pre-populate signup forms with a users Facebook profile information.
However, allowing people to log in with their Facebook credentials poses some serious questions that have yet to be addressed by Facebook. Namely, what happens to your information, how is it used, how secure is it, etc.
