Converting a free dating site to paid subscriptions usually results in horrendous attrition rates. Jott, which converts speech to email on my iPhone (and web of course), recently made the changeover from free beta to paid.
The email to users was well crafted, gave us plenty of time to respond, and overall is nicely done. Check out how they embed stats about my usage in the email and gently drive me toward a plan that reflects my use of the service. Finally, they offer savings for people who select a plan early.
