app_3_2427228091_7705.gif I finally got around to installing Match.com’s Little black Book Facebook application. I thought it was going to be a welcome respite after doing 7 interviews in a row today.

The opening screen wasn’t very inviting (see blank screenshot), and on the next page, when I invited a bunch of people to the application, I wasn’t able to see the Submit button, so there are some serious formatting issues, at least with Firefox on my Mac. Scratch Safari as well. Match makes a lot of noise about leveraging social networks to drive traffic and they make a it’s a PC-only application? At least enable Firefox support. I was surprised to see there are currently only 240 daily active users of the application. That’s not exactly searing up the charts, but the service is brand new so give it some time while they get the kinks out. Since I can’t actually review the app, here’s the explanation of how it works an my thoughts on features and pricing.

matchlbb.jpg What is Little Black Bookâ„¢ and how do I add it to my profile?

The Little Black Book application is everything your little black book used to be, and much more. The application lets you search for and start new friendships (or even relationships) for yourself or for your friends in an entertaining, new way. Designed with a fun, laid-back feel, Little Black Book allows you to save profiles of people who catch your eye; so you can come back later to check them out. Once you find someone you’re interested in, just give them a “Thumbs Up” to “Unlock” unlimited communication with them. Ready to add Little Black Book to your profile right now? Click on the “Add Application” button at the top of this page. It’s that easy to widen your circle of friends and meet new people.

I’m always open to meeting new people! So how do I use Little Black Book after I’ve added it to my profile?

It’s easy and fun. First, you’ll answer four basic questions about yourself or about the friend you’d like to find a match for. Based on the information you provide, the application generates the best available matches. Now just find someone you’d like to get to know better, click on the photo to learn more about them, and if you think you might click, you’ll have the option to buy a key to unlock unlimited communication. And you can do the same for your friends!

So I can match my friends, too?

Match My Friend lets you to pick matches for someone other than yourself. Just enter the friend you’d like to find matches for, and if they haven’t already added the application, we’ll need you to answer four, basic questions about them. Then the fun begins! You’ll see potential matches and can give a Thumbs Up if you like them. Your friend will be notified that you’ve found someone they might be interested in, and can come join the fun. You may also use one of your “keys” to unlock unlimited communication for your friend so they can begin connecting with matches immediately.

Two things jumped out at me. First, “The application lets you search for and start new friendships (or even relationships) for yourself or for your friends.

Friends and/or relationships for me and/or my friends? Well it is Facebook. We’ll see how the whole “match your friends” feature takes off.

Second, “if you think you might click, you’ll have the option to buy a key to unlock unlimited communication. And you can do the same for your friends!” How much does this key cost and why isn’t it clearly explained in the service description? Do I have to buy a key for each person, or does one key cover me for communication with multiple people?

I’ll have to jump on a PC and check out it. If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think in the comments.
