Lawmakers in New Jersey have pushed the Internet Dating Safety Act through to the next step of the lawmaking process, even though most agreed the bill is based on allegedly incomplete and inconclusive background checks.
The difference between screening and background checks comes into play here, and most bills have failed to differentiate between the two.
Nine other states that have considered this bill have not passed it.
