More less-than useful numbers from Nielsen. True is #3 and Singlesnet has 12.5 million members? Please. These random numbers continue to prove how unreliable and useless basic traffic numbers are without the proper contect. I’m all for thorough evaluation of traffic when based on a number of metrics, but a free site bumping a paid site doesn’t mean much to anyone due to the fact that most traffic gains are the direct result from spyware, toolbar searches, etc. MSN breaks out their Match members and Match counts their entire database, so millions are being counted twice? And where is Vintacom?
Hopefully the statistics and research panels at iDate will clear up some of the confusion surrounding these stats and the methodologies used to cook them up.
