It took a few years, but the online dating industry consolidation party appears to be in full effect. Hot off the wire is the news that EasyDate is going to acquire the Allegran dating business. The acquisition increases EasyDate’s current portfolio of dating websites from seven to twelve.
Having successfully provided the technology platform for the Allegran dating website portfolio, EasyDate has now purchased the traditional dating sites GirlsdateForFree.com, Loopylove.com and Quickflirt.com from Associated Northcliffe Digital, (AND) as well as the successful niche dating sites DatingForParents.com and MatureDating.co.uk. This group of websites is one of the most successful in the UK, with a membership database of over 3 million profiles.
In short, AND, the owner of Allegran brands, is cashing out to focus on larger markets like classifieds, property, cars and travel.
This is an interesting development. Who’s going to buy EasyDate, Parship, Meetic or some other EU dating company?
