FriendFinder IPO Update: There has been talk about a FriendFinder (which also owns Penthouse) IPO for quite some time. Starting in the summer of 2008 there has been a number of developers and executive staff who have left or been let go from the company. A year ago I wrote that FriendFinder Networks Announces IPO Filing. Shortly thereafter I mentioned the FriendFinder IPO update. On Tuesday October 13, 2009, Friendfinder said it intended to complete it’s IPO process by the end of the year. With nine days left in 2009, what are the chances that FriendFinder is going to live up to it’s promise?
Israeli start-up Jajah, which allows users to make international phone calls via the Internet, will be sold to Telefonica’s mobile phone unit O2 this week. Jajah powers several dating site communication systems including Match and eHarmony. Jajah allows its 15 million subscribers to make cheap phone calls to 125 countries by connecting their call directly to their landline or mobile phones through its website.
