The Sweetheart Scammer– this was a decent article. If you send me a link, mention whether or not it’s ok to give you a shout-out. Sometimes people assume that I won’t mention their names or company affiliations, other want me to mention them. My fallback position is publish the link without attribution, but I like giving props where they’re due.
I am ecstatic about the number of comments you’re leaving. The conversation about PlentyofFish offering Serious Dater badges is good stuff.
Look at the traffic for Avalanche (Disclaimer: advertiser, past client), which owns Date, Matchmaker and Amor. Who knew that Matchmaker, a relatively new acquisition, would be the crown jewel of the Avalanche empire? Date.com should be worth north of 15-20 million a year in revenue, at minimum, what do you think?
People Media Brings Niche Online Dating to AOL Personals, launches new site redesigns for some of their communities including LoveAndSeek.com, SingleParentMeet.com and JPeopleMeet.com. I need to look at the AOL deal more closely, been busy talking to a lot of companies who are preparing to blow the lid off some very important deals, acquisitions and product rollouts.
JDateTV has launched a series of weekly webisodes. The first video clip I saw was naked woman in a bathtub, and they get more intimate and interesting from there. The travel videos feel like a peek into a Hedonism club. Nice eye candy. But then they have a tongue and cheek video of a total as***** which was a turnoff. Were they going for the stereotypical Jewish guy? So cliched. Just because you think it’s funny doesn’t mean it is. Why point out the losers and make that connection?
