I wrote Decentralized Databases Are Better than Corporate Datastores at my other blog. The implications for the online dating industry are enormous. What happens when PlentyOfFish, Match and eHarmony become services that act on our profiles, and third parties emerge that can provide superior service? You could have a user interface from one company, a search mechanism from another and a communications system from a third. The opportunity for the dating industry to evolve into something approaching efficiency are mind-boggling.
Of course there are more questions than answers for now, but thats what makes it so exciting.
