Wenesday June 25 is the Virtual Social Networking Conference. I’ll try to jump into the chat room for a bit at mid-day EST. The virtual event for iDate Miami was pretty good but suffered a lot of glitches which took away from the overall experience. We’ll see if Pringo has their A-game on for this event. If not, it’s time for Mark Lesnic to find a new vendor.

Pre-event networking is a good way to build out your pre-event contact list. Last time it was great to be able to chat before the event, get to know people a bit, then connect F2F at the show.

Interesting sponsor list: HP, Sybase as main sponsors, besides Userplane, which everyone reading this already knows about, and Transparansee, which makes search engines more effective. No social network sponsors or video-sharing companies, odd.

The Mashable blog has the most street cred out of all the sponsors. My rant about Mashable – they are throwing a party in Boston soon which I am boycotting. TechCrunch throws a fantastic open bar and after-party in Boston last fall. It’s 1am and Arrington is standing next to me and we’re drunk and chatting. That was great fun. Mashable is charging for a similar event, and unlike this blog they make tons of bank on advertising. Booo!

Golden rule: the pre-event chat is only as good as the people who attend. Looking forward to meeting you in the chat room tomorrow.
