Social dating site Thread continues to slowly releasing new features. the latest batch lets people offer rewards to their friends if they successfully match them up. For example, wine for the first date, $100 to become exclusive and a trip to Australia if they get married. Great idea, and fun.
I was just talking to someone about the failure of Engage/Kismeet yesterday and here we have Thread taking the matchmaking concept and making it much more fun than Engage was. People like being at the top of the leaderboard, but I’m thinking that airfare to Sydney is better motivator than empty-calorie points that you can’t do anything with. I’ve been offering a “bounty” to people for years, neat to see this included on a dating service.
With Thread and Gelato, in terms of growth, slow and low, that is the tempo.
