Payment processors have often held the online dating industry at arms length. It’s a good thing that startup Payments-R-Us offers guidance and advice on choosing merchant account providers.
Tech Crunch on Payments-R-Us, a new wizard-driven payment processor service:
Choosing the right processor, and many times, processors, from a confusing multi-layered vendor ecosystem can be tricky. Poor decision-making when it comes to issues such as terms of pricing, business fit, or processing capability, can each be a deep gash in any startup’s soft underbelly.
…The Payments-R-Us wizard covers four major verticals: traditional US, international, digital goods and high risk. There are currently 15 processing services listed (including several from Amazon, PayPal, and Google Checkout), with about a dozen more in the pipeline.
The payment process marketplace, and all of it’s moving parts, remains daunting, even to the somewhat-initiated. Dating sites can have a difficult time selecting the right processor for their site, with the casual/adult sites seemingly having the most difficult time getting a service to effectively sponsor them, often times requiring hefty sums of money in the bank to cover chargebacks.
