I finally got around to installing a real ad serving platform for the blog. I’ll be able to share better stats with advertisers from here on out. If you’re interesting in sponsoring Online Dating Insider, contact me.

Nicolas B., you contacted me but forgot to include your email address. Let’s connect so we can meet up in NYC.

Have you seen eHarmony Advice? They’re talking about adding youTube videos to profiles. Reminds me of Match’s Happen Magazine.

gunloverspassions.jpgGun lovers now have a dating/social network, Gun Lovers Passions. As a New England liberal this makes me cringe but to each their own. That’s the actual home page graphic.

Bone Fish Ltd Launches Black White Label Dating Network.

Bone Fish Ltd is the oldest white label dating provider in history with one of the strongest standing programmes and services on the net. Boasting around 3.7 million ‘real-members’ across the globe, and some 28 clearly-defined niche networks, it is little wonder that the ten-year old company boasts an affiliate referral rate of 90%.

I first heard about Bone Fish in March, when they announced SpectrumX Personality tests. I’m not entirely clear that is the the first black (african-american) dating network based on a white label platform.

LAICU.jpgHave you seen the Los Angeles Times “ICU Connections” feature? It’s similar to Craigslist Missed Connections.

Every day, tiny stories spring up from the Southern California maze of freeways and neighborhoods and into the “missed connections” section of Craigslist. Most don’t have Hollywood endings, it’s just hopeful residents trying to meet, reconnect, share moments in some way. For the lucky few, lives change. Every week, video-journalist Katy Newton tracks down the faces behind the posts.

They have a interactive map of L.A. singles and accept video submissions. Neat.

Personal Relationship Assistant. I need one of these.

Getting drunk with eHarmony. Greg Steiner, eHarmony COO is interviewed. Java, PHP and database folks are needed.

Poor Yahooligans, what a terrible week it’s been for them. I hope the Personals group is holding up. Maybe you can sneak in an API to publicly share your database while everyone else of focused on the implosion of the company.

Lavalife is having a volleyball tournament the weekend of July 12. Players will be collecting pledges and all funds will go to the Hospital for Sick Kids. Socially-conscious and bikinis and beer, right on.

Unfortunate dating site name, YJew., now in beta. didn’t they learn from JLove?

I like the concept behind DatesForTrees. Trees are donated for each month someone is a paid member.

pressreleasespike.jpgI was talking with a client about the impact of press releases. Here is a good example of a traffic spike resulting from a press release.

Browse profiles with your brain.

Ok, thats it for this week. Big bike ride and lots of sleep for me. Have a great weekend.
