Matchmaker Janis Spindel is featured in this month’s Fortune Magazine. Male clients pay $50,000 + marriage bonus and Spindel has a database of 12,000 women. 1,000 relationships, 800 marriages an zero divorces. That’s an amazing track record and I’m in the wrong side of the relationship business.

As a former intern, I can attest, I was with her for a full semester and she never had a marriage, never had a relationship. She just conned men out of their money. Men would call screaming and she would refuse to take there calls. She is crazy. Unprofessional. Dresses like a slob. And uses professional makeup and hair for public outings. PS if you call and you are transfered to an associate named “Brooke” know that it is one of Janis’s alter egos.
Always talk to interns when you want to know the real deal about a company, thanks for the perspective.
I was also a former Janis “intern/assistant”. She never hires more than one real “assistant” at a time, she just employs “interns” for “school credit”. I was there for a semester as well, and she never set one single person up! She asked us to avoid her male clients calls and told us to “rip up” info. on girls who weighed more than 130 no matter what their height.
She was in fact married before her husband, and a bit of FYI , her second child is adopted and she hasn’t had a client in MONTHS!
Maybe she won’t call her interns “scre-ups” after the truth comes out!!
To everyone who has read this,
It is so obvious that this was written by a specific disgruntled employee. All of these comments/accusations are false. I have been with the same wonderful man, my husband, for almost 30 years and was never married or engaged before. As for the comment about my second child, which is totally inappropriate, my family and I were fortunate enough to give an amazing lifestyle to an incredible child. Brooke was the one of the best assistants I had for a very long time and she freelances for me quite often, as many of my other former assistants do. I treat my assistants very well which is why they stay with me for a long time. I am usually a great judge of character when hiring, but sometimes I make mistakes. Whether it is “Karen” or “Alexis” ( which are false names of course ) I know who wrote this and of course the karma will come back to you big-time. I would not be in business for almost 19 years if I did not have the track record that I have. I am an open book so my integrity and success rate speak for them self and if anyone has any questions about it , please feel free to call my office.
