Alexa Rolls Out New Stats

by David Evans on February 16, 2007   in Traffic

Reach has changed from a user-per-million figure to a simple percentage figures, much easier to comprehend IMHO.

Traffic rank and page views include a breakdown of your ranking by country, and a listing of the top visitors by country.

Alexa has never been an accurate gauge of a websites true traffic, so do new stats even matter?

Hey Dave,

I’ll second that IMHO – way more readable this morning. For all the people who complain about Alexa being in accurage and gameable, the reality is that lots of people do depend on Alexa rankings. Quick examples that affect lots of sites, especially bloggers – I believe Text Link Ads and Review Me determine your prices based largely on Alexa rank.

Hey – are you using Wordpress? That dynamic comment preview under the comment form here is really cool – was wondering what plugin you use if any so we can add it on our site.

Have an awesome day!

Thanks Dave. Since we’re already off topic, thought one more wouldn’t hurt. :-)

I was wondering what plugin you’re using to show recent comments – I didn’t see it in that list. Or is it a built-in Wordpress function?

Have an awesome day!

It’s part of Wordpress, addable via sidebar widget.
