When I moved Online Dating Insider to the new address my Technorati rank went from 21,698 to 1,508,982. In just three days I jumped 400,000 spots and over the last month I’m up to 340,167. Moving blog url’s can be deadly and I’m doing what I can to get people to stop visiting the old blog and coming to the new one. Readers who keep tabs on ODI via RSS are the easiest to manage, it’s the search engine visitors from search engines to the old blog that are most difficult to shepherd over to the new address.
Managing the flow of traffic to and from blogs is incredibly interesting, I’m constantly learning fascinating details about the location, point of origin and search terms used to reach ODI. More details to come as I get a solid set of stats to work with.
