I like how Classmates has added further customization of profile pages, including the ability to create new pages featuring blogs, photo galleries and articles. If they can do it with hundreds of thousands (millions?) of members, what’s holding back dating sites from offering the same features? Most social nets offer some sort of customizability and personalization. Dating sites letting members express themselves in new ways, a novel concept indeed.

This is the very direction that we’re taking Matchdoctor. Social Dating is going to be the new way people date online.

The whole idea of the internet is about self-expression. Perhaps, not the original intent but when looking at it closely the world wide web is a magical playground for freedom of expression. I agree with you that opening up customization will let others know more about oneself, which is what you want in order to make that perfect match (not dot com, mind you).
