Compete Publishes Major Dating Site Traffic

by David Evans on November 6, 2006   in Traffic

Markus has an interesting take on Comscore’s data when comparing True to Plentyof Fish with Compete. I don’t know why he’s picking on Comscore particularly but this is good stuff for you stats geeks.

I hope Compete continues to share this information publicly and not try to stuff it in expensive reports of dubious quality. We need more metrics than the Hitwise stuff at Onlinepersonalswatch, which is as useful as a submarine with a screen door for serious analysis.

Remember, metrics are only one tool you can use for baseline analysis when initiating campaigns and selling advertising. Better to share your own server logs and not rely on third parties, which results in the kind of transparency that is beneficial to all parties involved.
