TechCrunch says that Myspace has gotten rid of SingleStat.us, the experiment where people could find out when someone became single again.

Vallywag has more on David Weekly, the web 2.0 entrepreneur with what surely ranks as the shortest startup to flameout ever. Something over a week or so from inception (a Sunday coding project) to the Myspace cease and desist letter.)

Myspace shut down DatingAnyone.com recently as well as Stalkerati. Best quote from the Vallywag comments:

techcrunch, valleywag, and f***edcompany on the same day! this is nobel prize material for proving the theory of singularity!

Looks like Myspace needs an API so smaller companies can add value to the service without involving big scary lawyers.

In other news, Facebook sold a .05% stake in the company for $10 million to Interpublic Group in return for $10 million in advertising.
