Bonefish is the oldest white label dating provider. Online Personals Watch talked to Bonefish CEO Mike Fitzgerald about online dating scammers. About 90% of the scamming on Bone Fish’s sites has come from Russian and African scammers and they have had only one affiliate scammer.

Many a time I’ve looked on the internet for places that work like a “scammer central”. I’ve managed to find a few websites that list 5,000-7,000 members who are known scammers. However, I do not think that this is the right approach as it lists the names of the individual members (the scammers) that are contacting the members – not where they come from!

This is a topic I have discussed with many online dating executives over the years. iovation has a massive database of scammers and I’m working with a company that’s going to add additional layers of protection that can be integrated with a centralized database.

DatingAdNetwork interviewed Bonefish as well, going into much greater detail about how Bonefish operates. The Bonefish affiliate program is mentioned, specifically it’s ability to address very specific niches, something Mike says other white label providers are not as good at.

Mike makes a good point about new webmasters spending too much time tweaking the site and not enough on marketing. I spend a great deal of time talking to dating startups with tiny marketing budgets, helping them to devise plans for driving traffic without breaking the bank. These days, traditional banner advertising is out of reach from almost all dating sites. Widgets, affiliates, banner exchanges and social networking apps seem to be driving the lions share of traffic these days.

World Dating Partners, a leading online dating platform provider, today announced its strategic alliance with Think Partnership’s Relationship Exchange, to form one of the largest dating membership databases of over 20 million members.

Once you strip out the PR hyperbole it comes down to this. Relationship Exchange will use World dating Partners platform to run all of its partners dating services worldwide. Does this mean RE is retiring their platform? I don’t even know who is left at RE from the original team, especially now that it’s owned by a mining company, of all things.

I’d also like to know how stale those 20 million profiles are. I’m pretty sure they are not all people who have logged in during the last six month.

World Dating Partners is in a battle royal with White Label Dating and this latest deal gives them an impressive number of new profiles. How effective will WDP be in converting free profiles to paid and how much does RE get for each new signup? Who is in charge of marketing to the membership and how is the revenue split? Perhaps WDP CEO Robert Fathers will enlighten us as to the details of the deal.
I’ve been talking with Robert for almost a year now and have ben impressed with the platform they have developed to host partners and the growth strategy.
