Its a nice idea but all photos will never be verified. That will scare away people who click links and drive advertising traffic.

All photos should be verified with some background check to limit the scamers or even deter completely.

I think a lot of scammers use professional photos and model photos stolen from websites to entice people. I think a lot of people don’t trust professional photos because it looks too good. Most regular folks only have access to a regular camera, if you can afford a modeling photo, then the women probably doesn’t need to be on a dating site and its likely a scammer. If a woman is truly beautiful, she will look good in any regular photo.

I agree on a number of levels. In my mind more than a few issues exist. 1) Does it display the date of the photo. 2) Are they airbrushing the photos? 3) On a separate note, I think it’s ok to have one or two professional shots, but you know the adage — a picture is worth 1000 words — well, what story does a professional headshot tell someone?

I think it’s VERY important to have at least one “real life shot” preferably one of you doing something you enjoy. After all, I’d rather see a picture of someone out dancing, playing softball, etc., instead of just reading about their hobbies in their profile. And often — there’s so much more “depth” to a REAL photo as opposed to a forced one in a photography studio.

Overall, I think this could be a fantastic deal for owners of dating sites.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a few nice photos of yourself in your profile. The key to your issue is to not have all photos be pro shots.

Our genes has sadly programmed us to respond to ‘attractiveness’ of the opposite sex as the very first criteria for considering them as a potential mate. Whilst you argument is a fantastic one for deep thinking person, who can see past appearance, may of us still judge on ‘attractiveness’ so a flattering photography that bring out you good attributes can make the difference between getting a date and not getting one.

Professional photos with styling will never == accurate. DatingHeadshots doesn’t solve the single problem that it claims to exist in order to address.

In general I think overly-flattering photos are a bad idea. Wouldn’t you rather have someone choose to date you based on your epistolatorially-expressed personality rather than your appearance and then have her register delightful surprise when you’re better-looking than she imagined?
