From what I can see of Google Analytics it cannot track conversions to paid memberships unless they happen at the time someone registers on my site.
Do you know of any software that could for example identify where a member came from (i.e. how they arrived at my site) and subsequently (perhaps 3 months later) upgraded to a paid membership?
This is a great question. Are dating sites using third party solutions or something created in-house to track conversions?

Hi Dave,
It is a good q. You can set this up as a goal in GA (thank you page after paid upgrade) as every registered member has a unique ID/url.
Then in the new custom reporting feature you can set this question up to identify %. & #’s.
Advanced solutions such as Omnitures Site Catalyst will also give you this information but you may just want to set these queries up and run them m straight off the server.
Hope this is of some help.
