JDate Redesign

by David Evans on June 22, 2009 in Uncategorized

Picture 1.pngDidn’t Spark just update their web properties a while back? Was it really necessary to say “Please make sure your selection is accurate to get your best matches” on the page where you identify your gender?

Picture 2.png I like how they explain new features.

Picture 3.png But look at this traffic graph, it’s all over the place. Was another site redesign what JDate needs right now? We’ll see as we monitor the traffic in coming months. They do post to the JDate blog daily, which is a lot more than I can say for many dating sites.

Well, when you’re losing members, your traffic is down, and your members are tired of your site, of course the first thing to do is redesign your site.

I’ve looked at their redesign, and spoken with a few people, and I have yet to hear a positive comment about it.

Why add additional functionality when you can do a facelift. It’s far cheaper and gives the illusion that they’re doing something to improve the member experience.
