Does people have any Facebook datasets? I am master reseacher. I have a collaborative tagging algorithm which need some Facebook datasets for measuring. If having, please send me by email ducde1606@gmail.com. Thank you so much.

for some reason, some singles prefer their dating profile to be separated from their social networking profiles; partly for safety reasons but yes, I agree with all the others who commented on this post, one could just post a link if he or she chooses to do so.

I've mentioned that here in the past. And put a link to your dating profile on your social network pages, but that gets tricky for some people.

if you use matchamakers then it's nothing like eHarmony.

The amount of questions is not the problem, its the quality of the matches returned.

I think you should just put a link to your blog or myspace page on every dating site. That will serve the same purpose. Or at least a site that can verify your identity like a blog. But I guess what you want is to have something that automatically has the profiles fields filled in or something portable. I just think sites are too different, such as Okcupid being portable to Match or e-harmony. Plus, there is the money issue and ID check, if you want to really succeed, create a more transparent ID verified matrimony site like e-harmony, except with real matchmakers and less time-consuming questions.

Wow! This sounds awesome. I'm a happy customer at People2People.com, but it would make my life 100 times easier if they can figure out a way to integrate this into their site. Here's hoping!

There needs to be a data repository that is out in the cloud, secure and not owned by any one company. That is a tall order indeed, but will become more necessary as we pump more of our data out of our desktop/laptop and rely on third parties for management/display and sharing.

This type of data sharing is needed in the dating and social world for all the reasons David mentions.

If I was a dating site owner I wouldn't want to be too dependent on Facebook though. Facebook is a business and they will always look out for themselves first. They own the api and could do anything they want with it. This could include changing the API with little to no warning (which breaks your site) to blocking your access to the data.

It would be nice if openID or something similar become more popular and filled the role that wasn't associated with any one site.
