Has anyone used Dating Site Builder? I need to know if they are worth considering. Site says the have created $850,000 in revenue per month. Not bad for a $30/month product. Feedback has ranged from a-ok to stay the heck away.

I use them since 2005. Their new dating site has improved lot as well as the customer support. Price is well below competitors too.
I wouldn’t reccommend anyone to purchase this software script it is loaded with bugs and features that don’t work the way they were intended or don’t work at all. As far as support goes I sent them a detailed description of problems I had and got a reply of “Could you please elaborate what exactly do you want ?” My answer was “I want the software to work properly.” Stay away!!!
I didn’t purchase their software, I use the hosted dating script and it’s easy for me. I am no technical person.
I’ve been using their hosted dating script too. That’s definately the way to go. It’s chalked full with features and I don’t have to worry about setup and hosting. Just signup and use their shared profiles to get a fully populated and functioning dating site.
I find that for support, I have to explain a little more , but i do get questions answered and issues resolved.
Recently I signed up with http://www.datingsitebuilder.com web hosting but the service was horrible. I signed up to start a dating site but could not because some of the features did not work. So far I have been signed with the service since the beginning of August. They claim to give you a 30 Day money back gaurantee. So by the by mid August I had to ask for a refund because many of the features that they provide did not work. It is now 8/28/09 and the hosting service did not fix the problems or give me a refund. So far I heard of atleast 16 other people currently on Facebook expressed that they tried datingsitebuilder but has left the service to due non-working features. Now I have to fight for my refund of $120 back. There are many other people that had problems with datingsitebuilder.com Many of the people that had problems with them can be found on facebook.

I use their hosting service and so far without any problem. I have built my 2nd site with them. Support is pretty responsive, especially the live chat. I have tried abk and eharmony which were even worst.
I have signed up with http://www.datingsitebuilder.com web hosting and I am happy with the service they provide. The most interesting thing is the 24×7 chat support that resolves our issue on the chat it self, if required they guide us to place a ticket. Everything’s working fine. I am impressed with the service they provide.
I have been using datingsitebuilder since feb 2009 , and haven’t faced any problem till now. They have solved most of my issues on the live chat itself. Their support is great.
I have tried three websites on Datingsitebuilder.com. And they are awful. They have the worse customer service! They lie about what they can do and advertise things they do not offer. They offer a SEO Package… it comes with the Enterprise Solution. Days into me buildingout my sites; they confirmed with me that they completed the SEO of the site.
I’m truly concerned as I had not yet added meta tags, keywords and a site description. These guys are freakin’ morons! I requested my refund, NEVER GOT IT! There site has been down over 7 times, all with over 2 hours of blank pages not loading.
Today, 01/07/2010, all of their sites are down including their own advertising sign up site. Did they just debit my account again today? YES THE DID! They are crooks and thieves!

I setup the enterprise solution with them on Feb 4, Never got the site design (besides giving them the PSD, CSS and HTML for it) , full of spammers and scammers, and fake profiles, useless support – Dedicated support does not exists with these morons, I put my refund request through paypal yesterday, don’t waste your time if you run a serious business.

I have given them the benefit of the doubt and after reading hundreds of negative reviews I thought “let me give them a shot maybe it’s not that bad”
I WAS WRONG. IT’S WORSE.
At first their support is friendly when you are a new customer yes.
But as soon as you start paying money and find issues with support or software,
they turn into the worst company I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
When things get to heated for them to handle they will block you from live chat and it will just keep saying “this service is not available”. And I didn’t even swear at them nothing. I was just pressing for answers and solutions…
Live Chat will most of the time just say “email admin” or “submit a ticket” that’s it.
Then you have to wait an entire day just for a one or 2 vague answer that does not solve anything and just create more confusion.
DatingSiteBuilder is run by a bunch of Chinese people who can’t speak English and most of the time will misunderstand you and create even more problems.
They do try. There is a support guy with the name Brandon he is nice and he tries to make a difference, but it only goes up to a certain point then that’s it “admin has to do the rest” which they don’t!
They don’t offer a demo – USE SOME BRAINS – why do you think that is? hmm?
Any person who do not offer a demo has something to hide and they definitely do.
I custom designed my own template for my sites and took my custom design fee of $450 for 3 sites and after first tolding me “your site is 50% completed” and I started asking for some samples or progress reports they said “what you require is not possible due to system incompatibility”.
DONT CONTACT THEM FOR A REFUND. CONTACT PAYPAL OR 2CO DIRECTLY. It’s the only way you will get your refund.
I have sent numerous emails and never got any reply on them.
I made numerous suggestions to improve their customer service and all was ignored.
Live support is just there for the show. “hey look we are here for you 24/7 and our compeditors are not” that’s bull. Once you experience a serious problem or want solutions they will only say “submit a ticket” or “there is nothing i can do”.
DONT FALL FOR THE GOOD REVIEWS YOU READ ABOUT THEM IT’S ALL FAKE AND POSTED BY THEM. Unless that person can give a link to their site and give you contact details, etc it’s fabricated by them to “cover their butts”.
Also they claim to give UNLIMITED bandwidth. This is not true either. The Enterprise package isn’t even on a dedicated server. Once you use more than a % of the server’s total capability then you will be going over the “unlimited” price.
I have asked them about this and they responded “nothing really is unlimited isn’t it?” At this point they don’t offer dedicated servers so you will be stuck with all the other customers on the same SLOW server that is more down than it’s live.
Ask yourself.. if the customer service is so bad how bad would the software and hosting be? EXACTLY.
If you go for shared profiles then remember you won’t just get profiles on your site. All your members that join your site will be shared with other sites. This means even though you run a social site they can pop up on an adult site. This has happend. You can’t protect your member’s privacy. They will be contacted by the internal mail system (if it’s working at that stage) with hundreds of spam messages. I have received messages from people from nigeria, philapenes, etc all perverted and broken English. Also even though you choose to only show “social” profiles on your site it may happen that adult profiles get listed on your site because they have no control over new profiles listed within their network.
IF YOU WANT TO RUN A SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONAL SITE, DO NO AND I REPEAT – DO NOT – USE DATINGSITEBUILDER!. You WILL regret it I give you my word.
For real complaint, we are happy to accept and correct our mistakes. However, the statement posted by Ann above is 100% false. She did purchase 3 Custom Design from us. She sent some Photoshop files and our designer tried to work on it. But later designer found out the design is not compatible with our software. Thus we refunded her 100%. She has not even started or used any of our services, how could she post such reviews about our services?? It’s very clear that she got upset and posted false statement. If we had such a bad customer support, we wouldn’t spend time and try to explain here.
I hope Dave can review this and remove the false comment.

Gordon, its good for people to see the negative and the positive reviews of dating software, which is why I leave them all up for the most part.
Comments are pretty much 50/50 positive/negative, which is a lot better than other dating site scripts.

Dave, thank you for your reply. I agree with what you said. All websites have good and bad comments. There’s nothing we can do. What we can do is to take care of our existing customers. Like I said, this customer Ann from Africa purchased 3 Custom Design. She said she would sign up for our service if the design looked good. We told her that it would take 3-5 business days to complete each design. So there’s no point for us to update her progress on daily basis. She came to live chat and posted tickets to help desk everyday asking for status. Later we found out the design is not compatible with our software and so we gave her full refund before even she asked to. Because the orders were canceled, she’s not even signed up for any services. She’s not even used our Enterprise, profiles, hosting, or any services. So how could she comment on something she has not seen or used? You know what I am talking about.

Ann, you say “Completely designed from A-Z” to which I ask, are you a designer?
The fact that you delivered design as a Powerpoint does not bode well for you.
Do you understand the details required to get a design to fit into templates? This is usually a big problem with dating platforms.
Translating between what the customer wants and expects and the capabilities of the software and the company supporting it is often a problem.
Your set of expectations could be perfectly fine and the company could just not be very good, or you could be way off base in terms of whats possible with the system.
Unfortunately, none of us will never know fully what happened. We hear your complaint loud and clear.
If you are not happy, try a white-label platform or any of the other reputable dating software systems out there.
I am a graphic designer, but not a web developer. They said I must provide my design in powerpoint format and they would impliment it for me. I just followed their request. As they do not understand English I had to SHOW them what I wanted. I have, I bought Skadate. I’m not wasting my breath or energy further on these unprofessionals.

1.)BUGS IN SITE: My site is down more than its been up due to the bugs in their system (with out warning/no communication) so you cant work on your own site even though you have aid them for it, costing you more money.
2.)CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BEYOND BAD:Dating Site Builder are very inconsiderate regarding their customer service as it is impossible to get an educated response to your questions, its like talking to a 14 year old at times. It can take weeks to get a response, sometimes you dont get one at all.
3.)PAYMENTS: They have absolutely no communications regarding the payments you are making to them made or need to be make. Your account is dinged for the amount owed but you have no idea when this will happen. When you ask them about seeing your payment/account they say check your bank statement. So you dont know what your paying for or when! They do NOT communicate with you about their payment system regardless.
4.)BEWARE -BEWARE: NOW/currently at this moment in time all the work I have done on my site is gone… as when I type in my domain name(which I bought from GO Daddy and own personally)into Google (after all the hard work of getting my site submitted to the search engines, directories, twitter, facebook, etc) my site is actually beginning to collect users and make me money…its not my site, it is NOW being cloaked by someone elses site(FISHERS DATING)…my site is NOT there, (I HAVE A SCREEN SHOT TO PROVE IT) the name of my site is there but Dating Site Builder/ Fishers Dating are using my SEO work as their own. Dating Site Builder obviously have my email address and use it continuously send me updates on new templates but yet cant communicate regarding the problems I am having or payment history’s, etc. Something that is a basic fundamental to all businesses.
I refuse to pay them until I get some answers. They need to remove FISHERS DATING off my domain name. NEW UPDATE: Dating Site Builder/Fishers Dating has currently removed their site from my SEO but it does not change the facts that Dating Site Builders ethics are despicable). If they would work as hard on their site and customer satisfaction, especially their billing process and communications as they do on making new templates this site might have potential but it leaves a lot to be desired in the professional/administration field.
After writing the above statements and posting my concerns on a few review sites…Dating Site Builder finally removed their site FISHERS DATING from my SEO. after I personally parked my domain to stop them from using my work for their own gain. I wish I read this before signing up. I signed up recently and wanted some simple changes. I got no response from support. Then, my site went down for an entire day. When it came back up all the data was gone! Imagine if facebook or myspace lost all their member profiles? What a way to run a business.

I just purchased two hosted scripts one from Datingsitebuilder and one from Ning. I can honestly state that Datingsitebuilder.com is a Joke. In the same time it took for me to get a response from DSB Ning had my other script up and running. I call, Gordon actually hangs up on me, I submit tickets, and get that the customization will be done within a day, I go on chat, they say that they are sales and not support. so much for dedicated support. Gordon is worse than anyone there and their 24/7 support yea right.. call their support number, try to just chat, talking about a waste, I am giving them till the morning to get customization done or I am going to bank to dispute the charges. I also think that a site should be built just for all the people that have been ripped off by this group.. Lets put them out of business completely.. we can do that by going to their credit card processor and prove they are frauds
I wish i have read this before i did buy the simple crappy script that they sell… that you can find better crap then that given for free online… also when you buy the php script it doesn’t come with a self install, it is only a basic script that for you to have articles or either edit the contact page or anything like it… you will need to code. Duh! In now a days… there’s way better then that little crap they sent me for 100 dls.. plus they are advertising something for 99 dls and charge you 100 dls. SCAM. Also once you try to get your refund, they will tell you… but you got everything that is over on the our page, what they forget to mention is that when you purchase a script the way their pages is written, it gives the impression that you will also get the installer and all the auto edit… wrong you get a basic script only… no installer, no click and edit text, no edit front page pictures or anything like it… then when you want your money back, then they will let you know… Oh… sorry … that was your mistake… because that one is the service that you pay with our server it is your fault and not ours that you buy the wrong one…hum?? well if it is a builder… normally in my way of thinking is a self install and easy to use where you don’t need to code… but they say… no the builder is only for people that pay for their server or have their monthly subscription … so… what now? I have read some bad and good reviews about datingsitebuilder’s social networking software. I gave it a try. After 2 weeks I signed up, I found the software is fantastic! There’s no complaint about it – easy to customize, drag and drop, few clicks to upload a photo, type some texts, and publish – no more than 5 minutes. Customer support is limited to help desk or ticketing, but response is pretty fast. I can understand the cost is high for phone support and many providers don’t offer that including socialgo and ning who got millions of funding. Datingsitebuilder’s software has more or less features like these big websites but the good thing is DSB also offers dating features which benefit to my members. For adult social network, you don’t have to worry of being shutdown!! Using DSB software is easier than learning how to surf LoL

I’ve just reread complaints here. People, if you want refund, do NOT ask for refund from dating site builders. Contact paypal and 2CO RIGHT AWAY! Describe the story and you will get your money back. Dont waste time placing tickets asking for refunds. Both paypal and 2CO is very loyal and flexible when it comes to refunds.

I paid for the enterprise package on 18 September, I got a email on Tuesday to say my recurring fee had been taken from my account.

A $50 budget isn’t going to get you anywhere. Have you considered Boonex Dolphin or Skadate (advertisers here) or White Label Dating?
I was one step away from doing this tonight until I saw this. I called and spoke to Gordon earlier today. I had to go over my question 5 times with him today while he was typing on the computer doing something else. I asked him if he was the only one who worked there and he said “no,we have many people here in sales and a hole team for Tech and bla bla bla. I could tell right away he was not professional nor was this a company that really cared about there clients. What sales person have you ever talked to was doing something else when your asking about there product and you had to repeat yourself 5 times very clearly to get an answer. The guy is a pusher,could care less…notice same guy I talked to on the phone…notice how much he looked into your loosing dude get out now and maybe you will not go to jail.
I don’t understand why people still bother with these people. Just look at all the complaints. I think it’s pretty obvious they are not the best choice out there. Gordon probably couldn’t answer you as they are asian and their English is very poor. Stop wasting your breath and just buy Skadate, it’s worth every penny. Case closed.

Dont use them. Its a waste of money!!!! Listen to the people that have already gone through it. I used it myself and ignored all of the negitive reviews that I read and now I regret it. Everything is true about the script, the service sucks and they cant speak english, they have no phone number, the bugs in the script are so horrible they couldn’t even fix mine so they decided to just shut me off after I paid for their service, and there profiles are not real active profiles. They share them with hundreds of other websites. Oh and after they closed my account they took all of the real active people that signed up from my website and they are now using them for their own. Don’t bother asking for a refund eithier. You wont get it. I tried to ask them, I tried explaining to paypal and through co2checkout with no success. Listen to the reviews!!!
