You must be confusing us with Sparks Network who indeed has been suing online dating sites for this reason. But, again, it is NOT IKS doing this.

* There are plenty of ways to *measure* personality, plenty of ways for personality testing.
* The best way to *assess/measure/evaluate* personality is using a normative test (in the native language of the test taker).
* There are plenty of personality tests, many are ipsative and other are normative.
* There are plenty of ways to design a system to *calculate* compatibility between prospective mates. Examples: Dyadic Adjustment Scale, IRT Item Response Theory/ Rasch Scaling (a multivariate logistic regression equation), a multivariate linear regression equation or other math equation.
eHarmony could have its own matching method patent,
PerfectMatch could have its own matching method patent,
True could have its own matching method patent,
Cybersuitors could have its own matching method patent,
Chemistry could have its own matching method patent,
PlentyOfFish could have its own matching method patent,
WeAttract could have its own matching method patent,
Any Online Dating site could have its own matching method patent!
* An International Patent is the sum of the patents in every country (where is possible to be patented)
* To my best knowledge, general math equations, like multivariate regression equations,

Your “informed insider” couldn’t be more uninformed. This is entirely bogus. IKS isn’t the offending company here — it’s Spark Networks as every truly informed insider knows. In fact, this patent trolling campaign has been going on for some time now and has been covered in the blogs previously. It looks like the patent in question will be invalidated.
