can you tell me why I would recieve an email randomly in my email to some other woman for “someone has a crush on you”? I do not subsrcibe to these sites nor have an interest and it bothers me.

Please help. I am thinking maybe its because I dont log off and other users log on in my screen so maybe there is a cross over to spam and virus?

Even better than the reverse match is the mutual match. In a sense, that’s the ultimate search. But it’s based on just clerical criteria and therefore has only limited usefulness. Reverse matches are just that, they match what profilee, if you will, wants, but not necessarily what the profiler wants.

And I think it’s ironic that you’re asking why Match can’t create a custom search for you. They have have trivial to fix, but seriously consequential bugs in their search algorithms for YEARS. Do they even have programmers on payroll?

I don’t think its because of bureaucracy, etc. I think it’s just because they are hiring the wrong people or not hiring anyone at all.

And to top it off, consider the dating applications in FaceBook, like Zoosk, that have essentially no search to speak of. It’s like their hiring people straight out of romper room.

This is something I’ve been working on as well. It’s a familiar pattern (Amazon Diamond Search), but works well for dating, especially on a range, i.e. “only show me people in this allowable ‘fitness’ level”, not to put too fine a point on it.

Amen, brother!

The smartest search function on a big site is Match.com’s Reverse Match. Why EVERY site doesn’t have this is a mystery to me.

And I couldn’t agree more that learning from member usage patterns is not only possible but imperative.

It’s much more expensive to market to new subscribers than it is to help the current ones succeed.
