okcupidprofile.jpg This indicator of how complete my OKCupid profile is was perplexing at first. To get to the next level of completion, I can either answer another 204 questions or add a single comment to someone else’s profile. Now I get it, they want you to leave more comments, because people aren’t doing that much. Come to think of it, nobody is blogging at OKCupid either, at least the 500+ profiles I’ve browsed there.

It’s pretty cool how they are directing people to interact with each other. Either spend 25 minutes answering questions, or spend 30 seconds commenting on a profile.

I would like to see them pushing the blog/journal feature more. I update the first line of my Match profile often, like a mini-blog. People tend to respond to that a lot more than the usual, “I can’t believe I’m doing this” intro that many people lead with.
