I didn’t miss the point of your service, I just disagree with the usefulness of it in regards to the dating market. The assumption that people don’t have close friends or neighbors could be argued, as well as the point that it’s probably a good idea for your close friends to know what you’re up to, isn’t that part of being friends?

For backcountry snowshoeing, hiking, etc it’s fantastic idea. Only problem is that those locations have spotty phone coverage.

It’s like a digital version of signing in at a trail head.

Finally, the service should be free, charging that much is going to limit adoption rates. Get REI to sponsor the site.

I appreciate the mention but the author missed the point of my service. Singles now account for over 50% of households in American today. A majority of these do not have a nearby support system to rely on when they go missing. They do not have close friends, relatives or neighbors thye can trust nearby. Also, who wants even their closest friends to know their every move? Privacy and security is what SafeCheckIn.com is all about.
