I awoke in a post-Patriots party fog, fired up my web browser and I see Markus Frind, founder of PlentyofFish at the top of Techmeme.

Here’s the story at the New York Times. It touches on many of the same complaints and praise leveled at PoF over the years.

My main issue with the article is this, I don’t believe for a minute that Markus works only 10 hours a week.

you’d be surprised, I spent most of September and October in Mexico and Europe and parts of the US.

If I was Markus I wouldn’t find this article very flattering. It makes him seem all he cares about is the money and not his members.

The members care about each other and the service, that’s what matters. Most dating site operators are in it for the cash, nothing wrong with that if you run a great service that actually works and don’t just throw up a site and forget about it.
