And what a week it’s been. Scientific Match, Vidoop and Iovation interviews. Trade show booths shipped off to iDate. Attended the virtual conference, had several new business meetings and responded to the usual press calls and a broken windshield to top it off. Tonight it’s all about DJ Spooky at the ICA, which is just what I need to end a hectic week. Wednesday and warm South Beach can’t come quickly enough.
While I was talking with Mandy Ginsburg at Chemistry.com today I received an email from Yahoo! Personals about a new feature, Yahoo Activity Alerts. Are they tapping my phone? I am narcissistic and love knowing who has viewed me. Now Yahoo alerts me via email when someone I’ve viewed has updated their profile. Nice touch and not too invasive, unless you have a lot of people as favorites and they change their profile often.
How about using Chumby for dating alerts? I’m definitely going to get one of these. I have two monitors and various gadgets keeping me informed throughout the day, why not one more, especially if it’s hackable, squeezable and throwable.
Ran across TrustPlus, where you can view the reputation of others and build your your reputation on the web. Plenty of competition like Rapleaf, and all these reputation providers need huge partners to drive adoption and have enough users to be useful.
Reputation management on dating sites is coming to a dating site near you in 2008… or 2009… or maybe even 2010.
Last night I realized the Tools & Services page was not displaying properly. I’ll fix that when I get back from Miami.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to share interesting technologies and services that will reduce the cost of creating new dating sites.

Brilliant, but not maybe so good for my dating profiles.

Long Distance Relationships (Check me out!)

I don’t have anyone to talk about this to, so I am very glad I found this site. I hope it helps me make the right decision.
I have been in a long distance “relationship” for a few months now. The guy and me both hate onling dating, but go figure thats how we met. Both our friends/family would not be supportive of this if they knew the truth so we have been telling them we met up this summer. We have been talking online at first, then email, and phone. We used to spend hours on the phone every night. Now its not so much. I want to meet him and see where things go. I really have feeling for this guy, which is crazy to me, but I can’t deny it. But with his work schedule he is very unavailable this time of yr. It seems less and less likely its going to happen for us, but I wanna hold on and believe that love can find me. I have waited 2 yrs to find someone decent and worth dating, then I met this dream guy. I want to have faith and believe it will work itself out, but everyone I know tells me if he really was into me he’d make time to spend with me and hang out with me and start a relationship with me.
So I am looking for advice on what to do.
