There is plenty of technology available today to vastly improve search from the basic, broken mess it is, but no site really seems motivated to do that. For example, Match's has had basic bugs in its search present for YEARS that they haven't fixed. These are bugs that could literally be fixed in a day and if they can't do that, do you think they are going to make major upgrades? This is all a pipe dream.
