Dating Service Lawsuit Settlements Website

by David Evans on June 22, 2007 in Legal

Recently I came across LawyersandSettlements.com, which has a page dedicated to a Match.com class action lawsuit and one for It’s Just Lunch, dated 2005 and December, 2006, respectively. The site looks like it’s prospecting, and something doesn’t feel right about it. Are there other sites out there like this?

I purchased a six months membership with It’s Just Lunch (dating service) on May 25, 2009, and they totally lied to me about the service. I was told that they guarantee 12 dates and I would be dating once a week. They set me up a week after the contract was signed and it was with some one that did not meet any of my requirements. The second date did not take place until a month later and that was because I asked for a refund as I was not happy with their service. This second date was also the opposite of what I had requested and so were the other two. I had a total of 4 dates in two month period, the last one being July 3rd. I tried to contact them several times and finely got a phone call from “my match maker” and she stated that per the contract they guarantee 5 dates and had already been on four and therefore there was plenty of time for the fifth one. I checked the contract and sure enough it is there. I failed to read the contract and just trusted the sales person who told me who that I would be going on dates once a week with nothing but professionals and good looking people there were other lies as well. I have not heard from them at all. I tried to dispute the charges with American Express but unfortunately they could not help. Do I have a case for a Small Claims Court? If so which court do I go if their office is in Florida?
I appreciate your help with this.
