WorldFriends Networks Raises $2.5 Million

by David Evans on March 7, 2007 in Dating Industry Finance

Dating industry veterans including the co-founders of Lavalife have funded Shanghai-based WorldFriends Network. WorldFriends Networks currently serves over 200 website partners and 1,000,000 registered members.

The Asian dating market continues to heat up, with a considerable amount of capital flowing East to build out dating and social networks. Expect several more announcements of funding in coming months as VC continue to place bets on likely (and unlikely) contenders.

Strangely enough, the MS Word version of the press announcement links to Vivox, a WorldFriends partner.
