Success hasn't killed his entrepeneur genes. And the benefit of being a one man company means you don't have to convince a board, a team of developers and marketers to try something different. Give it a shot, measure the results and do changes as necessary. In the worst case, you have had a blast doing something new for a while. Good luck Markus. As I’ve always said, there will continue to be a large market for serious daters who use subscription costs a) as a filter, and b) feeling like they are making the most of the online dating experience by going the extra mile and subscribing for a true dating site.

The number of people using free dating sites will continue to grow. The problem is that free = flirt and dating site=relationship. People will decide what they want and become members of those sites.

Once people get comfortable with social networking and the companies build out the next versions of their sites (better privacy/safety tools, 3D worlds, high-bandwidth versions), we’ll see dating sites follow behind, albeit slowly.
