Jeremiah Owyang, web strategist at Podtech has put together a great list of social networking platforms that could be branded or changed as needed. Some of these are in the Tools & Services section but this list shows I need to update the list.

Take a look at this site there are some great members and articles about dating
(currently in Beta) Launching in Nov 2007, Mvolve provides its business to business social networking platform for 3rd parties. Mvolve focuses on social networking sites for vertical markets.
Interesting, White Label Dating platforms are now quite common on the web, however white label social networking platforms are still an untapped market – or so. Some providers claim they provide a white label social networking platform, but nobody proved really successful so far.
Any updates of this list available?
Thank you.
Just how much of an untapped market is the question. I spoke with a white label social network provider who told me that certain Fortune 100 companies take up to six months to select a platform partner and perform due diligence on the infrastructure. Those deals appear to be larger than most white label dating sites.
Some white label dating providers have hundreds of smaller clients where on the social networking side they have a smaller amount of larger cients.
I think that one of the things that you have to consider is that many companies that take ‘white label’ social networking solutions don’t actively advertise the fact that they are operating on a turnkey solution as most companies in this space are trying to create value. You will also find that the reason why many of these companies are not being heard about is that in the scheme of services they are small. Any serious company who wishes to compete with the large numbers of social networking sites will either go for a tier one client solution modified to fit their needs or build the application themselves. The vast majority of sites that don’t do this tend to do this and go down the affiliate white label solution tend to look and obviously feel like all the rest and often struggle to gain any significant foothold, AKA affiliate ring tones and dating sites.
Here at Mvolve we have recognized there to be a significant opportunity within vertical market ‘business’ networking platforms rather than generic ‘social’ solutions. We have been working in this space on our own core platform aimed at the telecoms market for the last 18 months and are due to publicly launch over the coming weeks. Over the past year we have seen a rapidly increasing level of interest in our business networking solution being adapted to fit other specific market and have recently decided to provide our platform to selected partners.
