Well I have been using this one always: http://www.aewebworks.com. But ABK seems much more so to speak human-oriented, with a good sence of humor as far as I can see. Although I haven’t used it till now. Maybe gonna try it on my next site.

Me on the contrary, I moved from AEWebworks to AbleDating. They think more about the end customer. And end customer is not the one buying the software, but the end user of the site. Users like having fun, games, chats.
So I stick to abk. Although it is a matter of preferences I suppose.
Just bought the AbleDating script just 2 weeks ago on May 6th 2007. I did a lot of research on dating scripts before purchasing this one. I really like the features and the look and feel of the program that the end user will see.
The things I don’t like about AbleDating is that most of the script is encrypted and if you have issues with the script you will have to wait for support to fix it and that could take sometime. But for most of the issues that I have reported, I get a response with in 12 – 24 hours. It may not be the response you want to hear but you do get a response from support.
So since I just installed the software on my dedicated server and just turned in my custom design request just 10 days ago. We will see how my site turns out and I will keep everyone posted on my success or failure with AbleDating & abk-soft.com

Don´t buy this software… I did it three months ago because I wanted to earn money with an German commercial dating portal. Abledating is full of bugs. It´s not what they promised on their website (“Powerful, secure, fast and stable PHP/MySQL online dating software with unlimited functionality modification options and easy design/layout customization.”). I got a lot of sql errors and there are no unlimited modification options because the important scripts are encoded. This script is not usuable for an commercial portal.
They promised weekly updates, myspace and youtube features – but there are no updates since three months now. You have to buy their new product Ablespace to get this features now.
Their support is horrible. ABK-Soft ignores my support tickets in the member area and bugs reports/critics in their forum are deleted very fast.
After buying the software you got the licence document with their refund policy (I was not asked to agree with it in the buying process): “…BY PURCHASING OR USING THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THERE SHALL BE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER, …”. The software is not working and the customer has no chance to get the money back.
I contacted the my credit card company to get the money back.
I wonder if I can ask anyone that maybe reading this blog… out of genuine curiosity why anyone wanting to start their own online dating business, choose to buy a dating script against other options.
I have thought about this a lot and tried to put logic to the subject and can only come up with three real reasons that would satisfy any reason for this.
1/ That someone wants to have independence to run their own site.
2/ That someone enjoys manipulating scripts and graphics themselves.
3/ That they are unaware of any way of starting a dating site
Can anyone else please give their reasons so that I understand?

My reserch has also shown a billion dollar industry as sites as popular as utube and other clones have grown to be very popular. Now my question is to Mr. Fathers… What other options do you refer to? I can’t quite understand your question because towards the end of your question i get a sense you are so suprized with why one would choose this path. I am sure there may be many diffrent reasons why one decides to buy a gas guzzling RV and 4×4 in todays market. LOL ……

If I could make it quite clear here, that I am not attacking those that use dating scripts or the companies that make them, just trying to gain an understanding why they prefer this method to others. I think that they have their place for many and just trying to understand the views of those that use them

In answer to your question – is that many different people have different reasons for entering the dating scene, each one I believe as well as dating scripts have their place in the online dating industry
Banner services, – that give front page customisation
Template Sites – when you have these sites readymade sites,
Co-Branded services – Where you get a partially branded service
White Label Services – Where you get complete customisation or sites made to order
All these services are generally free
The other reasons that you give are common to all people who run the other services above “I also enjoy membership enrollments with while providing a service to people world wide.� So this cannot be added as a specific to dating scripts
Given the alternatives in my list, can you explain which ones are gas guzzlers and why?

So here is my opinion:
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM!
Unless you like having the worse experience of your life.
Upgrades those are not compatible with your current version. So you must delete your current site and start completely over for every update…
Support that has not knowledge of the program or how wed sites are designed.
I could go on with 100’s of different complaints and problems with this program but I won’t.
I finally after 4 months and 1,000’s of dollars of hiring a program contractor’s to help we have a fairly stable working dating script.
That is all I have to say. You have been warned.

I think what helped a lot with my abledating site is that we integrated UserPlane – Video & IM chat with our abledating wed site and my members really like the upgraded features in UserPlane.
I feel if it were not for integrating UserPlane into AbleAdting then we would not be as successful as we are now..

Noticed my space attracts people.Well Guess what! They have MySpace and Friendster-like Friends Module in their product. But Also i found MySpace and Friendster-like Groups Module In it. I was so pleased! Love your work!
Will I received my update to the script and it’s going to be a lot of work to integrate it into my live site. Instead of just getting an upgrade patch that where I could just run an upgrade script to make it simpler. I have to literally start over again with a whole new install.
So what do I do with all my current members?
Do I just e-mail them and say to them, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that we have installed some new features on our site. The bad news is you have to come back and resign up again and repost all your photos, videos, bolgs, forums, and invite all your friends again, and everything else you have posted and done on our site.
Now what kink of reaction do you think I will get from my members if I told them that?
Now I could spend 100’s of hours trying to figure out all the changes and integrate them myself, but how has time?
But there is another problem I have. My current version is using Zend Optimizer for encryption and my new updated script is now using ionCube PHP Encoder for its decoder. So that means I need to reconfigure my web server to even run the new updated script.
I link the new features but I do not think it is worth it for me to go through all that trouble to install. If only abk-soft had an upgrade installer which made all the sql database and script updates for me. Then also had some type of a change document that told me which files were changed incase I had made custom edits that potentially be over written then I would consider installing the new updated to my able-dating website.
Changelogs for updates would be very useful, regardless of the script you are using. Whenever possible, I make all developers document every change they have made to the database and prove that they can upgrade a base installation fairly easily. Then when the script is upgraded, you at least have an idea where your setup needs attention.
I purchase the Abldating script in May (with a custome design) I’m still waiting.
PLEASE BE WARNED! I Ablsolutely would NOT recomment them. They are crap at giving you what you actually pay for. They’re cheaper than a lot of scripts and you can see why… Go for a co that’s recommended by a friend or one which has won awards.

Over the years I have used a lot of dating scripts. The last one I purchased was garbage. No offence, but people like Dmitry Rudakov do not have a good command of the English language. After you have purchased a product and found a lot of bugs in it, and then have to pay a programmer to work them all out and basically re write part of the program is a pain in the a$$. Once you make customizations, then the upgrades are no longer any good. The script I bought (at the recommendation of a programmer) was customized over several weeks and THEN I found out there was no way of screening the ads (approval process)
The biggest problem of buying software from Moscow is the language barrier, no one could speak English well enough to understand the problems we encountered. Yes it is cheaper, but at a PRICE. Be WARNED, if you are trying to get into the dating business you are better off being an affiliate for another company because if you think you can buy any of this software and be up and running immediately you are in for a big surprise. And that is only my two cents worth
I used http://www.aewebworks.com earlier, it was not pleasant to me, have then learned about http: // abk-soft.com/, but read only bad responses. Why so much mucks write, and has not understood. Has called in a support service, has talked to the adviser by name Vincent, it has explained to me in the accessible form the information interesting me. It appears, it not simply script, and the tool for creation of business.
500 $ – not such greater money, has tested in online-mode of an opportunity, it was pleasant. So much I did not see all still on one similar site! In general, has taken, but there was a problem with installation. It was necessary to call again. Let communication was not so good, but unless it is important? Language barrier – I do not think so, me have perfectly understood, problems with it were not.
But I have found out a question on the interface and itself could make some changes to a site, having improved it (in my opinion).
This script is really awesome. With it my website became more attrative. And now i have more than 4000 hosts on my site with it:)

This script is powerfull. It is able to connect people on diffrent levels. Providing that you know what your doing this script is very addictive. The idea of bring the whole myspace idea to the consumer and his own purpose gives a new meaning to socal life on the internet. Bringing people togther who have never even met before. What an incredible team. I bought the AbleSpace package about two months ago and believe me I did loads of homework before taking the step. From what I saw it was definitely a superior product. I had a small budget to start off with and could not wait to get thing going.
While waiting for my unique design I saw Mixer was released and immediately (and you can go check the logs) I purchased it. In a month since I launched DateCave.com I already have 900 signups and that is in just 30 days! (This was with very little marketing). This of course made me so excited that I could barely contain myself. I started getting impatient. I just had to have my Able Space going. And then I got it!
Go take a look at my community site (www.zo.co.za) I had this idea in my head and I could not quite get it into a design. So I made a rough draft and sent it through to the team. A few days later I got my design concept back. Before I received it I wondered how many times I would be allowed to send it back for changes. Then when I got it, it was exactly what I wanted! Nothing to change. You read my mind. Not a single change.
Excitement on this side was very high. And I could not contain myself, I felt like a spammer constantly inquiring about the status of the final unique design. “When will I get it� I must say that the team was very professional at ALL times. Incredible! Even with all my nagging.

ableDating is a pretty good script. Support is a little slow but at least the script runs right and the company doesn’t seem to be very shady
Honestly, they seem to be very honest and respectful. The script is just INSANELY FULL of AJAX options and other nice options that end-users absolutely LOVE.
If you really want to knock the socks off of your members – this script is the one to check out first.
Downfall? It’s about twice as expensive as other cheaper scripts.
The most important feature of this software AbleDating is the 3D City Second Life Virtual Chat System. Through this feature two persons become able to meet in a virtual place and can date with each other. The cool 3D effects add more colors into the feature.
We are extremely happy with the AbleSpace networking application. It has all the great features we needed for our social networking site and we found we could adapt it easily to what we were trying to achieve. They were more features included in the package than what we were aware off which came as a bonus. We now, in a very short space of time have a growing number of members joining the site and is growing by the day.
Their tech-support team are always on-the-go and I have been made assured that for each trouble I present to them someone is working (and thinking) hard to solve it for me. Some solution come out fast. And some take longer: this is normal for those who expect and value quality results.

Hi all! I have been reading all your posts re: the able dating program and have a few questions/comments. First, let me say I have a site called hepcmatch.com which is directed towards singles living with Hep C. It went “live” about 5 years ago after much planning and designing (working with logo designers, selection of colors for site, pics of models, etc. The Programmer I used purchased a program called Webscribble (at that point in time, I was one of their first customers and a bunch of 1st. yr. college kidsd wrote it – I used to speak directly on the phone with them for support – that was 5 years ago and for the past 4 yrs., good luck getting any support at all. The progammer who purchased the program for me could never figure out how to navigate thru the site – said it was very complicated with templates over templates, etc. It took him several weeks, alone, to change the generic background color of the site from orange to purple! Finally, after many months and arguments, he kind of admitted he couldn’t figure it out P(after taking my $) and left me hanging with it. I hired some new guys, still working with the – nice guys but also had many problems and were outsourcing what I was paying them for, which of course, was costing me even more money! These guys had so much problems, we decided together to trash webscribble and they purchased Boonex’ Dolphin program – also another piece of garbage with no support. After a year of my guys working on that, customizing, etc. and still not quite sure how to operate efficiently, we dumped that program, after time and money spent, etc. and went BACK to Webscribble and uploaded the newest version (which my guys had previously tried to do but couldn’t – this time they did). After updating the data and recustomizing the site, when we transfered over the membership and data and re-customizing, etc., 1/2 the member’s profiles ended up reading, “East Indian”, eating “Brazilian Food” and 4’9″!!! This is not a joke!
This has been a totally frustrating and highly emotional situation for me for years now! The site is actually bringing in less money then it did 4 years ago! I have gotten to the point where I barely care anymore. I feel bad for the members because I don’t feel they are getting 100% of what they paid for – which, believe me, after all these years and money spent, has not ended up being very lucrative for me, in the long run. (Also, many Nigerian scammers infiltrating site!)
So, now here I am and I came up with a BRILLIANT, new idea for a site, also directed towards a very specific “Niche’” in the dating community! I am ready to get this thing up and going but of course, am not going to work with my “nice guy” webmasters any more and Ineed a new dating software program to run the site. I want the site to look like match.com and naturally operate, as close to it as possible. (B.t.w…I was a member of Match.com back in the beginning of 1999 when everybody told me I was crazy for dating on the Internet and that I was going to get killed.) I have looked at this Able dating program you are all speading about here. To me, I actually think it has far too many features and I will end up getting bombarded with emails from my members who will not understand how to operate all those extra functions. I’m thinking I probably don’t have to include them (or delete them) from the program and…there is no way I can install, customize or operate the Admin portion of the site on my own. I’m sure, if I sat down with someone who knows how to navigate through admin and was patient to explain it to me, I would eventually have a good idea and be able to work many of the functions myself (however, not all – nor would I necessarilly want to). Eventually, all I want to be involved with (for the most part) is approving profiles and giving members support by answering their emails, etc.
An option for me, of course, is to hire a programmer to write a dating script for me using HTML and whatever code programmers use . (I’m a pretty smart girl however lacking when it comes to programming and the back end of this biz – I have a very small understandingof HTML and installing key words, etc)
Naturally, having a script written from scratch is very costly – I’ve receive quotes anywhere from $4k to $15-$30k.
What do any of you suggest? If I try this Able software, I would need a devoloper or whomever, to work directly with the ABLE software program support to get the site up, optimized, etc. and then eventually help me to understand it and then, probably need them going forward, to help ad advertising, set up and monitor affiliate program, shopping care, etc. – whatever I can’t do on my own!

Once last comment (sorry). The features I want from a site are very similar to how my current hepcmatch.com, basic quick and advanced search, drop down lists for profile info, fields for “my description” and “what I’m looking for in a partner”, sending emails, giving kisses, posting pics, etc. – all the basic generic stuff many of the sites out there have. I defintely don’t need live video or maybe not even live chat. I want to keep it simple for people, like myself, who just want to get in, view profiles, send emails, read emails, add changes to my profile, attach pics (of any size) and get out. In fact, I have been looking a a program called DatingPro – have any of you checked it out? The company is in Russia and they sent me the trial link to check out the Admin, etc. and it wouldn’t load. You can also do a trial off their website. If you go to their site and navigate through the membership pages, they look really good to me and again, pretty simple and basic for the members. When I dial their phone number for support, the number disconnects before anyone picks up and when I went on live chat (2 x) and told their support person this, she told me she gets everyone else’s calls – I find this very hard to believe. Anywhooo, I just thought I’d put the dating pro software “out there” to see if any of you knew anything about it and also to show (aside from how the webscribble features operate on my site) what features I want included on my site for my members. I was so close to buying this script but every time someone gives an honest comment there are 3-4 others posted with nothing but praise. The funny thing is that I notice those exact “praise” comments on numerous other sites I found. All with the same grammatical errors.
Something fishy is going on here and I think it is called schilling.
