Read/Write Web announced that Compete, a company formed in 2000 by Bill Gross of Overture fame, has quietly released a new search engine and at the same time opened up some of its analytics data to the public. This is great news for those looking for better free website statistics and the search engine shopping features appear useful. However, Alexa needn’t start shaking in their boots just yet. I’m guessing that the trust ranking is not all that hot at the moment based on the criteria they use to flag sites as suspicious.
