Shore Network Connections LCC is offering paid members of its dating site,

TheBadge.org, free access to background check provider investigationsnow.com.

TheBadge members are mostly cops, firefighters and EMTs can use the service to find out if that special someone is a murderer, sex offender or even worse, married.

Background checks cost anywhere from $15-$50 depending on the desired level of scrutiny and number of databases searched. For a site pulling in around $3,000 a month from subscriptions, this could be a good loss-leader which is sure to increase signups.

Investigate now offers services similar to Trufina, BackgroundChecks, Verified Person and many other verification services.

Maybe I am reading that wrong, but are you saying that because the members of the site are cops and firemen and nurses, they get confidential that sales clerks and accountants can’t? If so that site should be shut down immediately, if not, they are not offering anything that any site could and maybe does offer.

Where did you get the number of 300 women? I was considering everyone is a paid member but that does not seem to be the case.

worse to be married than a sex offender. Come on. What a stupid comment. Also, the background checks you can get are never really accurate or up to date. Remember, the person can use someone elses credit card and you won’t even know their name. Make a law for God’s sake! Registered sex offenders should be convicted of a crime if they have ads on dating sites. PERIOD.

    Want to start a petition???

Let’s get it on the ballot. I’ll be the first to sign it…

Sheila, I believe the comment about married being “worse than” being a sex offender is how the site was originally quoted.

As for a sex preditor petition, thats a good idea. The problem is the enforcement.

    Dear Readers,

I am the owner of Shore Network Connections, LLC. Two of the website http://www.TheBadge.org as well as InvestigationsNow.com are just a couple of the websites owned by the company. I would like to get the story correct here…..www.TheBadge.org is an online dating website for Police, Fire, and EMS Personnel as well as those interested in meeting such. The website was launched in March of 2006. Sure membership is low, it is a new website. I offer a free membership to http://www.InvestigationsNow.com for each paid member of http://www.TheBadge.org. Memberships start as low as $9.99 a month. This service can be used to check out dates, neighbors, etc. I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion here.
