I've never seen a dating site that was built by an independent contractor and was somewhat competitive. The only way to start a dating site (so it shouldn't be rewritten from scratch in one year) is to buy solution from a company which targets _only_ social software or build it from scratch with a company that again has experience in building something similar.

Don't forget, you need an interactive system with friendly user interfaces from a developer who knows all the intrisics of communities, not a piece of software with just a number of features. "Features" approach will make you miss something intangible, what makes sites succeed. It can be reached with only knowledge and experience.

Check out SkaDate Software. We had our 5th release in the end of August.
Call 505-349-8782 or email to sales@skadate.com for details.

Thank you.
