TechCrunch goes as far as saying AOL’s soon-to-launch social networking site will be a Myspace killer. Most people have difficult time thinking that AOL can come up with a property that will be as compelling and sticky as Myspace. Site will supposedly launch in a few weeks.

You’d hope so for their sake - I can’t imagine a tweenie audience willing to pay for an alternative to MySpace.

Unsure what the name will be. AIMSpace is the name they use for the developer program that enables creation of new services based on the AIM client.

The soon-to-launch AIM-based social networking product is to be called AIM Pages.
