This week I spoke with Userplane CEO Mike Jones, who tells me Userplane is offering permanent profiles for their free ad-supported app clients users.

Anyone can still jump in with just a screen name assuming they set up the app to work that way, but for users that want permanent screen names, photos, and profiles – there are two new buttons: “Create Profile and “Login. These new accounts work across the entire network of Userplane Instant Communities unless individual sites choose to restrict access.

For Users

• Customize profiles: who can see and what is seen

• Search and browse profiles

• Live invite-a-friend

• Room alerts

All user information, features, and content created in a site’s Userplane will soon be accessible to the site admin through web administration and a standards-based API. Sites will not only be able to monitor and adjust their Userplane, they will also be able to creatively leverage their new community beyond Userplane.

Users of Userplane’s free chat product can create a profile which you will soon be able to share with other free users Userplane profiles, similar to how it works on Yahoo.

Users on sites using Userplane’s paid chat product will be able to share their profile with others users, but only on that particular service.

If I belong to a dating site like Date.com, which uses Userplane paid chat client, I’m able to view other Date.com members’ Userplane profiles.

The key phrase is “Services will also be able to creatively leverage their new community beyond Userplane.” Mike says more features will be rolled out shortly.

More info in the Userplane newsletter.

why do you place all of your focus on infractions which are allegedly perpatrated by persons on the membership side? i’ve seen site owners and moderators spend all of their time pursuing alleged fraud and totally neglect their own behaviors in the process. the owners of a particular site are so sneaky in their dealings with the membership that i just can’t understand why the matter of fraud is being dealt with in such a one-sided way. anyway, i don’t expect to persuade you of what i’m saying but i thought i’d give it a shot. sincerely, gil.

Gil what site are you talking about? In the past I’ve talked about companies that sell CD’s of fake profiles, and next week when TheStreet article comes out more light will be shed on the subject. Certain dating sites are definitely guilty of misdemeanors, but on the whole it’s the scammers that are causing most of the trouble.

corante: thank you so much for allowing me this space. it seems that i am carrying on a one way communication at techvibes. administrator ouellett ended his forum contribution by telling me today that i wouldn’t get anywhere on POF by posting at techvibes. ouellet then blocked me from making any further contribution to techvibes. in my opinion, no one can progress much if all the neaderthals belonging to these kinds of sites, are too afraid to come out and play. in any case, i have no hidden agenda but nevertheless sitting here trying to get back online with these sites when they block me, is no great preference of mine. if anybody wants clariffication, it’s available. thank you. -gil- 15/11/05/

ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED PARTIES: THE LAWSUITS AGAINST THE BIG TWO DATING SITES HAVE SOLID FOUNDATION. THEIR ARE TWO SUITS PENDING AGAINST MATCH.COM AND ONE SUIT AGAINST YAHOO…UNFORTUNATELY ONE OF THE CASES AGAINST MATCH.COM MAKES A FEW INCORRECT ASSUMPTIONS AND IS WITHOUT MERIT ON IT’S TWO MAIN CLAIMS. THEY MAY HAVE JUMPED ON THE BANDWAGON AS THE FRAUD IS WELL DOCUMENTED AND THE EVIDENCE IS WELL PRESERVED..THEY MAY AMEND THE COMPLAINT IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT REGARDLESS THE TWO REMAININGS SUITS ARE ROCK SOLID….THE IDEA THAT MATCH.COM SENDS OUT DATE BAIT IS PLAIN GOOFY AND IF IN FACT IT HAPPENED IT MAY HAVE BEEN A TEST-MARKET THING THAT OCCURED A HANDFUL OF TIMES…IT IS NOT THE MAIN TOOL OF FRAUD THAT THE WEBSITES USE TO GENERATE CASH AS IT WOULD BE TO RISKY AND UNPRODUCTIVE TO ANY FINANCIAL END NO MATTER HOW MUCH VALUE YOU PLACE ON “WORD OF MOUTH”. THESE SITES SPEND ALL OF THEIR “ANTI-FRAUD” EFFORTS STOPPING MEMBERS FROM CIRCUMVENTING THE MONEY MACHINE THAT KEEPS PAYING AND NON-PAYING FOLKS DIVIDED. THEY ALSO ARE NOT BEHIND THE “RUSSIAN” SCAMS. THOSE ARE OBVIOUSLY 3RD PARTIES WHO LURE YOU TO AN ALTERNATIVE FINANCIAL END THAT IS SELF-SERVING AND NOT HELPFUL TO THE HOST SITE….THE FAKE “MODEL” PROFILES THEY DO GENERATE AID ONLY THE HOST SITE…THEY ARE ORNAMENTS ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE OF ELECTRONIC DATING THAT LOOK GOOD BUT NEVER COME OFF THE DISPLAY AND ARE ALWAYS THERE TO BE ADMIRED…THESE SITES UNLAWFULLY ENTICE NON PAYING MEMBERS TO JOIN THEIR SITE MEET PEOPLE THAT 1. ARE NOT THEIR MATCH. 2. NOT AVAILABLE AND “ONLINE NOW” 3. NOT AVAILABLE TO INTERACT WITH UNLESS THEY ARE REAL AND ALSO PAYING. THEY ALSO DILUTE THE TRUE MEMBERSHIP BY MAKING IT HARD TO DISTINGUISH WHO IS REAL AND WHO IS A PHANTOM IMAGE WHOM ONE MIGHT WRITE TO IN VAIN..THEY SYSTEMATICALLY MANAGE FAKE AND ENTICING PROFILES TO MAXIMIZE PROFIT. THEIR TACTIC IS NOT UNLIKE THE T.V. ADS THAT HAVE ALL THE BEAUTIFUL LADIES LYING AROUND AT HOME TALKING ON CHAT LINES….THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE COMMON PERSON REALIZES THAT COMMERCIALS ARE NOT LIVE T.V. AND TAPED AND THERE IS NOT GIANT RED PRINT FLASHING “ONLINE NOW” LIKE THERE IS ON THE INTERNET. THE WEBSITES ARE STEALTHY AND RUTHLESS AND FEED ON MATTERS OF THE HEART AND PEOPLE SERIOUS ENOUGH ABOUT FINDING A PARTNER TO PAY UPTO 40 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR THE CHANCE…..KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND STAY TUNED..CONTACT THE LAWYER PETER J. MC NAULTY 310-471-2707 IN CALIFORNIA FOR INFORMATION REGARDING JOINING THE CLASS ACTION LEGIT SUITS………GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF ONLINE HONESTY..BOBBYZ
