In the first half of 2005, eHarmony saw a 67 percent increase in affiliate sales from the same period last year. EHarmony uses Commission Junction, a ValueClick Inc. company, for their affiliate management program.
Steve Hartmann, director of online marketing at eHarmony:
It’s very important that our brand be consistent across all our marketing channels. With the help of Commission Junction, plus the remarkable enthusiasm and support of the publishers in its network, we’ve been able to maintain our premium brand image while driving growth in our subscriber base.

Wow, what astonishing non news. EHarmony was late to the affiliate game and now is trumpeting a 67% increase in affiliate traffic. If you were at little or no traffic and you get a 67% increase does that mean anything significant happened?? If television and other ads were doing so well why go to affiliate? EHarmony was number 3 on Commission Junction last time I checked. They followed Yahoo at number 2 and Great Expectations at number 1 in both 7 day and 3 month epc’s.
Does anyone ever wonder if their ads and releases are more aimed at equity markets than at customers???

I don’t think it’s so much cj that is driving eharmony and it’s success. The overall media blitz (ad investment) is finally paying off and coming to fruition as they are seemingly always a step ahead of the competition. They are the veteran players but there are so many nipping at their coattails, it is going to be difficult for eharmony to keep it up.
Great Post,
Brian

Do they even have affiliates? I’ve never come across one… not ever. So how can they be up? Where do these affiliates advertise? It’s a mystery to me!
