Where have all the value-added services gone?

by David Evans on September 27, 2005   in Mobile

Today I spent some time revising the Tools & Services section. Several companies, most notably Gnumber, seem to have shifted focus from the dating space to other verticals. Their DateNumber service doesn’t seem to be on the web anymore, unless Google is missing something. Interestingly enough, Gnumber has relaunched as UnWired Buyer in the hopes [...]

Virtual Characters as dating butlers

by David Evans on September 27, 2005   in Technology

Over the years I’ve seen many different types of virtual helpers, from the ill-fated Microsoft Bob to Clippy the Paperclip. LoveHappens still ain’t happening

by David Evans on September 27, 2005   in Uncategorized

Remember when Monster.com bought Tickle? Tickle spun off the relationship part of the site into LoveHappens.

LoveHappens has never done anything for me, not a single email from any member and not much going on otherwise. Nobody there seems to be paying attention to it, so I removed my profile. Or at least I tried to.

The [...]
