Just watch an episode of "Big Brother" on CBS and you'll see beautiful people who don't have to work very hard to be completely boring...

One good example of 'looks not being anything'

The most boring people I met through online dating were also the best looking. I don't know the reason behind that but it seems they didn't have to work very hard at forming connections -- so that part of their brain was wayyyy under-developed.

I'll admit I look at a picture before I'll read a profile. The pitfalls I see with a site like BeautifulPeople.com are:

1. Have you ever noticed that a person who you thought was average looking can become more handsome or more beautiful the more you get to know them? And someone you thought was beautiful or handsome when you met them may become more plain looking the more you get to know them?

2. They value physical beauty first, which can be a superficial way to look at the world and at people.

3. Sometimes our perfect match isn't who we pictured in our mind. A friend was dating all these rugged handsome guys and it was never working out. She dated the complete opposite and found her match.

In summary - by being so 'exclusive' they may actually be preventing themselves from finding their ideal match.
