Back in Action

Stomach flu and a sore throat made my holiday’s less than stellar. Hope yours were better.

Not dating related, but I thought this was neat. Good example of repurposing ideas and technology in new ways.

Dates.com. Founded in early August by a Highlands Ranch mom, the site is a sort of Match.com for the under-6 set. Parents pay $30 per year. In exchange, they get access to information on more than 70 other parents seeking friends for their children. Although the initial contact is made online, play dates take place not in chat rooms, but in homes, parks and other kid-friendly spots.

The site cost about $15,000 to set up and took about a year to plan. Profiles allow members to find matches based on location, kids’ and moms’ ages and the interests of the child and the mom.
