Smartypants only on this new dating site

Degreedate.com, LLC, the premier online dating company specifically targeting educated singles, launched their website today. First 2,000 brainiacs get free lifetime subscriptions. Main differentiator is segmenting by level of education.

Cully Perlman, resident and Chief Executive Officer:

After reviewing the many online dating services in the market, it was apparent that none of the existing services focused on an influential and discriminating demographic, singles that value education in their prospective matches. With the explosive growth and consumer adoption of online dating services, it is a very exciting time in the evolution of the industry, and Degreedate.com is positioned to be at the forefront of the next important phase.

In a new twist, Degreedate will be offering credential verification. Judging by how complex identity verification is to implement, I wonder how much it costs and how long it takes to find out if someone actually got their sheepskin from Harvard? Is there a data-source for that kind of information?

>> none of the existing services focused on…

Several services claim to offer verification for singles who graduated from Ivy League and “Top 50″ universities:

I’m not sure how much of a market there will be for an education-centric service beyond those types of schools.
